Chag HaBikurim (First Fruits Festival)
Immediately following Passover, the Feast of Firstfruits takes place. Leviticus 23:9-14 explains the offering of the firstfruits in detail. When the harvest was gathered, a sheaf of firstfruits was brought to the priest, which he waved before the Lord. This celebration is a sign of the resurrection, with Jesus being the first to rise bodily as the firstfruits and be presented to God (1 Corinthians 15:20-21:23). It signifies the newness of life (Romans 6:4). We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead, will raise us up just as he did. Then we will stand together with you before God.
(2 Corinthians 4:14).
Behind this lie three secrets;
Resurrection of the Spirit (Ezekiel 11:19-20): I will give them one heart and put a new spirit in their midst; and I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in my statutes and keep my ordinances and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Resurrection of the soul (Phil 2:12): Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
Resurrection of the body (Job 19:26-27): After my skin has been so shattered, I shall see God without my flesh. I myself shall see him, my eyes shall behold him, and no stranger. For this my heart yearns within my breast .
