The Miracle Of The Pearl

People sometimes tell the story of an oyster and a pearl.
How a tiny grain of sand can make a thing so valuable.
‘Cause it rubbed and irritated and the oyster couldn’t see
any purpose in the heartache, till she cried out loud, “Why me?”

Now a pearl is being fashioned, brought about by all the pain,
though the oyster feels like dying from the burden of the grain.
But with time comes new acceptance and she ceases to complain.
With new purpose and direction she now learns to live again.

Many years have come and gone now, living on the ocean floor.
No more hurt and desperation, she is stronger than before.
Then her pearl is born in sunlight and the grain of sand is gone.
All the pain is long forgotten, but the miracle lives on.

Every pearl moves us to prayer, helps us trust and understand,
‘cause the maker of creation takes your pain and helps you stand.
Now grows faith and hope and love and even joy in pain, you see.
So your own pearl is His gift to you for all eternity.
