YOUR ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS

Active and Passive Faith

Mark 5:25-29

Dear people of God,

the case of the woman with the issue of blood in the bible is a typical example of someone who has active faith.

Remember there are two types of faith: passive and active faith. Active faith believes that it is not all up to God, but we have a role to play as well. Whereas passive faith believes that it is all up to God and we have no role to play.

Assume the woman with the issue of blood had passive faith, she would have stayed at home believing that God should do everything. She would not have bothered to run after Jesus.

It is impossible to bless the non-seeker. But when you look at the world at large today, you will discover that man is always in need of one thing or the other. Those who are poor, want to be blessed; those who are sick, want to be healed; those who are lonely, seek for a companion and those who are wronged, seek for justice. Everyone is a seeker but not everyone finds what he is looking for. Why is it so? The reason is simple. You do not have, because you do not ask God. And when you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your worldly pleasures.
